Originally built as a hunting lodge for the Dukes of Rutland, Belvoir Lodge has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its character while offering the comfort and warmth of a welcoming countryside home. Rich in history and surrounded by breathtaking views, the lodge provides a truly unique setting in which to slow down and unwind.
The accommodation features nine bedrooms, many honouring members of the Manners family and the Duchesses of Rutland, each thoughtfully designed with its own character and charm. Spacious communal areas, a large country kitchen and inviting dining spaces create the perfect environment for bringing people together throughout the weekend.
Stepping outside, guests can enjoy beautifully maintained gardens and panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. These tranquil outdoor spaces will provide the perfect backdrop for many of our retreat sessions, from morning yoga and meditation to mindful nature walks.
One of the charming original features of this property is its collection of traditional bathtubs. It is important to note that the bathrooms do not have walk-in showers.
We appreciate that this may be a little different from what many of us are used to, so we'd like to encourage you to embrace this as part of the retreat experience. Take the opportunity to slow down and enjoy a relaxing soak in one of the beautiful bathtubs. We'll provide a selection of thoughtful bath essentials to help you create your own little moment of calm and relaxation.
We'd highly recommend bringing:
A swimming costume or bathing suit if you feel more comfortable wearing one while bathing.
A book, podcast or relaxing music to enjoy during your soak.
Any favourite toiletries or bath products that may help you unwind.
For anyone that would prefer a quick wash, we'll provide a bucket to make it as convenient and comfortable as possible.
As the baths are traditional and require stepping in and out, they may not be suitable for everyone. If you have any mobility concerns or think this may present a difficulty, please get in touch with us before booking. We have a few ideas that may help with this. We'll do our very best to support you and help you decide whether the retreat and accommodation are suitable before you make your booking.
Here is an overview of the weekend’s rhythm, giving you a sense of what to expect and when.

During the retreat, you'll have the opportunity to book an optional 30 minute treatment with Jo for just £17.50.

Our shared meals are an important part of the retreat experience, bringing us together to enjoy good food in good company.
The menu will be thoughtfully designed to provide wholesome, nourishing and delicious vegetarian meals, prepared fresh. Every meal is an opportunity to refuel and enjoy the simple pleasure of eating together.
We believe that some of the most meaningful conversations happen around the dining table and we hope these shared moments become some of your favourite memories from the retreat.
